New date, new start?

2011...

So people go on about how a new year means nothing, the same stuff will still happen just the same as it did the last day of 2010. Although I agree that not everything is going to change suddenly just like that, I do think it will have some impact on people if they want it to. As a new year doesn't just bring a new date, but a new state of mind. People reflect on the past year, make plans for the new one, pinpoint things they want to do in the future. Even small things all build up to make an overall change. It's like your birthday, you feel no different from the day before or even the day before that but eventually there is a change. You grow up. I believe the new year to be similar in some ways. A new year comes with a new outlook on the future, the thing that divides people is the choice to take the opportunity of change and run with it, or just to see it pass by every year and decide that the old way of doing things will do. It takes motivation which is something that generally most people lack, including myself. But the option is always there to change, not just on a new year but any time of the year - you just need the motivation to get going and maybe a little push along the way. 2011 isn't always going to be an easy ride, I can tell that already, as every year has it's highs and lows but we'll get through it. I hope you all have a really great start to the new year, especially you Emma as it will be your birthday on New Year's Day!

So I believe the new year can bring a new start, and new changes if you let it and want it to...

Real, or not Real?

Long time no type ;)

Recently finished Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, third book in The Hunger Games Triology - as quite a few of you will already know, or will at some point realise the title of this post comes from that book. I will do a post of my thoughts on the book on my own blog when I know the people who are reading it have finished. Very unexpected is all I will say. ;)

Anyway.
Real, or not Real?
How do you know certain things you see are real? Maybe it's all one massive dream. Or maybe it is real. But you can't always touch and hold something that is real because feelings or emotions can still be real, yet you can never touch them or hold them. So where does the barrier of real and not real start and end?

I don't know, and probably never will.

I haven't done a post on here in a while.

Sentimental fool!

Today I've been doing a full on room clear out, because I'm going to move a few things around and stuff. I'm so exhausted- I did it from 12 till half 5, with only a small break for food-.-
But what I'm going to ask you is, are you lot sentimental? Because I am, and it's really annoyingxD I just can't throw away clothes, games, drawings and school work from when I was younger. I had to get rid of my dolls house today, so I took a video showing everything in there and gave a guided tour of the house. But I loved looking back through it again, because it made me remember so many little things, like the barbie rubber I kept in the wardrobe, simply because it fit, and the tiny picture I drew and stuck on the wall, and the toy piano I put in that I got from McDonalds... I wouldn't have remembered any of it if I'd thrown it away years ago.
I completely love rediscovering things, like a letter I wrote on Sunday 5th of July 2003 to my friend Jasmine and her little sister, which I never got round to actually posting. It's so sweet! Maybe I'll show it to them some day...
It's things like that that make me despise technology. I mean, it's wonderful, *pats laptop* but after all, it's just a box. When we're older, will we be able to read through these blog posts? Maybe, but it wouldn't be the same as finding a letter we'd written to each other, with our own handwriting and crumpled paper.

Letters are so... Romantic? Something like that.

So when were older, I don't want any of this e-mailing crap to stay in touch, okay? I want some pen friends;)

Pritt Stick, Biro, Hoover.

At last everyone is now included in the blog! (:
S'all good. You probably will be thinking, what a strange title?

Well they all do have some purpose and do link in some way - I promise.

All the things in the title:

• Pritt Stick
• Biro
• Hoover

All are different makes, brands of a particular things, however they have grown to become names of the objects. Which they were never meant to be. Many times people say 'Can you pass me the pritt stick please?' and infact it isn't actually a pritt stick at all - just a glue stick. A biro is the same, only one type of pen is actually a 'biro' all the others are 'ballpoint pens' - but again they have been grouped together and called biro's just like the glue/prittsticks. Hoovers are much the same, 'hoover' is a make, not a name for an object. Mind you, i've never heard someone say; 'Oh get the dyson out dear' xD I don't know if there are any other example of this sorta thing... Let me know if you can think of any?

And for anyone who doesn't understand what I am going on about i'll explain another time for you ;)

I am pleased to announce that I have now got blogger :P obviously otherwise I wouldn't be writing this but still. :P

Hope all of you have a great summer, it's kinda weird to think that after six weeks we will only have one year that we HAVE to be at school for O.o scary
We can go in to Queensbury to go and get our test results (so far) on Tuesday 24th August ;D aha I did quite badly in the science ones to be fair :S

Summer!

Wayhey, it's the holidays! Can you all put the dates of when you're going away on here please? Just so I know^-^
I'm going on a school trip to PGL Liddlington on Friday, so that should be fun^^ I'll be back on Sunday night... Dates for going to Hogwarts are still to be confirmed:/

I don't like the way on Blogger you don't get a notification or whatever when someone's commented on your post, so I've added a 'recent comments' box at the bottom of the page, so you know if anyone's had anything to say(:
I also thought our page could do with brightening up, so I added a pond. There are ten fishes in there, but you can't see two cause they're the same colour as the background- They're our ninja fish;)

Music doesn't make the world go round like money... but it sure helps ^_^

Mwhahaa, i'm enjoying this already - it's quite amazing to be honest. The ball is actually going to have fun journey i am thinking.

When you lot do read this get posting a blog yes? :3 Gaaaaah, theres so many bands i could recommend to you Emma.. so this will be a difficult choice to make! I'll tell you two bands - three songs for each? - yes i know it's cheating but there sooo many to pick from, ;( if you don't like them don't worry i have plenty more!

When nerds gather, awesome ensues.

Zomigosh, we had our first blog thanks to Madame Skelton (...not you becky;)) The ball is now rolling merrily down the hill^-^ Do you like the background? I though books would be a nicely nerdy-ish (alliteration ftw!) thing to have.
Also, the rest of you need to hurry up and get your bottoms on here;) Though you can't read this until you do get your bottoms on here, which means by the time you read this, my previous sentence will be obselite. Dammit!

I am planning to get to know a few more bands, so I'd like some suggestions please? Don't like, attack me with them, cause the information overload will frighten my poor brain. Tell you what! Name your faverite band that I don't know, and I will listen to three of their songs.

so, i decided to start this off by urban dictionary'ing 'nerd' here are some of the definitions that came up:

1) 'A person who gains pleasure from amassing large quantities of knowledge about subjects often too detailed or complicated for most other people to be bothered with. Often mistaken for Geeks, who aspire to become nerds, yet lack the intelligence, and end up giving nerds a bad name due to their poor social skills. Non-nerds are often scared of nerds, due to their detailed knowledge, and therefore seemingly high levels of intelligence'

2) 'A word originally coined by Dr Seuss (king nerd himself), meaning someone who is smart. It is now usually used to desribe someone with more knowledge about computers than the average schmuck'
